If you’re following a low carb lifestyle and you’re always looking for new ideas you try, you absolutely need to make these keto waffles!
With just 260 calories, 5g of carbs, and 7g of protein per waffle, they’re the perfect quick and easy breakfast or lunch idea. Serve them simply with whipped cream and a little fresh fruit, or if you’re feeling super hungry, add scrambled eggs, bacon, and avocado for a satisfying meal.
These easy keto waffles are light, fluffy, and golden-crisp—just like classic waffles, but without the carbs. They’re made with just a handful of simple ingredients like egg, almond flour, and almond milk, and they’re one of my go-to meals whenever I’m sticking to keto. Let’s make them together!
Ingredients
- Egg
- Coconut oil or melted butter
- Unsweetened almond milk
- Vanilla extract
- Almond meal/flour
- Granulated sweetener of choice
- Baking powder
You’ll also need a waffle maker to make this recipe. You can pick them up for super cheap on Amazon or even from a lot of grocery stores, and they’re really handy to have if you’re following a keto diet! I use mine probably once a week, and I also love making cheesy ‘chaffles’ with cottage cheese or shredded cheddar.

- Brush or spray with the coconut oil and pour ½ of the mixture into each well-greased waffle iron.
- Put the lid on and cook the waffles for 4-5 minutes.
- Top them with keto-friendly toppings like honey, maple syrup whipped cream or fresh berries and enjoy!
Serving Suggestions & Ideas
These keto waffles are incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed in so many ways! Here are some serving ideas you might want to consider – note that I’ve kept these as low carb as possible, but if you’re following a really strict keto lifestyle, you’ll want to do your own calculations to ensure you’re sticking to your carb limit:
Sweet Toppings:
- Keto Syrup – Drizzle with sugar-free maple syrup or keto-friendly honey for classic waffle vibes.
- Whipped Cream – Add a dollop of homemade whipped cream for a light but indulgent touch.
- Berries – Fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries add natural sweetness and a pop of color. Fruit of course has naturally occurring carbs, so you might want to keep that in mind here.
- Nut Butters – Spread almond butter, peanut butter, or pecan butter for extra richness and healthy fats.
- Chocolate Chips – Sprinkle sugar-free chocolate chips over the top for a decadent touch.
- Coconut Flakes – Toasted coconut flakes bring a little crunch and tropical flavor.
Savory Ideas:
- Avocado & Egg – Top with mashed avocado, a fried or poached egg, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- Cream Cheese & Smoked Salmon – A keto-friendly take on a bagel with lox! Add capers and fresh dill for extra flavor.
- Bacon & Cheese – Serve with crispy bacon and shredded cheddar for a salty, satisfying combo.
- Keto Fried Chicken & Waffles – Pair with low-carb fried chicken for a fun and super satisfying brunch idea.
Creative Ways to Use Your Waffles:
- Waffle Sandwich – Use two waffles as “bread” for a keto-friendly breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese, and bacon.
- Ice Cream Waffle Treat – Turn your waffles into a dessert by topping them with keto-friendly ice cream and sugar-free chocolate syrup.
- Peanut Butter & Jelly Waffle – Spread with sugar-free peanut butter and a keto-friendly jam for a nostalgic combo.
